Ryuichi Hiraide is the founder and Chairman and CEO of Gaia System Solutions Inc. Hiraide brings to Gaia over 25 years of management and sales experience in the semiconductor, software, and consumer products fields. Gaia provides "total design solutions" for embedded systems including provision and consultation regarding development environments, process improvement, engineering education, and compliance for functional safety standards.

Starting with 5 employees in 1995, Hiraide has grown the company to a current employee count of over 100 while achieving relative revenue growth. In 2007 Toyota Motor Corporation of Japan became an equity stakeholder in Gaia reflecting its' belief both in the leadership of Hiraide and the opportunities of the embedded systems industry.

Gaia has been VaST's leading distributor in Japan since 1999 and continues to market, sell and support VaST's products.
